Winter without slopes - 7 activities besides skiing

Not everyone loves the crowds on the ski slopes. Luckily, there are countless ways to experience winter in a completely different way.
Here are 7 ideas on how you can enjoy winter with plenty of experiences.

Sledding at Wildkogel (Salzburg)

The world's longest illuminated toboggan run awaits you in Bramberg am Wildkogel.
The descent stretches over 14 kilometers, fast but safe – with panoramic views during the day and floodlights in the evening.
You can easily get up by gondola, and down below a hot punch or Kaiserschmarrn awaits you in the hut.

📍 Tip: Toboggan rental directly at the valley station, don't forget your helmet – the track is quite something!

Ice skating on Lake Weissensee (Carinthia)

With an area of approximately 6.5 km², Lake Weissensee is the largest natural ice surface in Europe.
Here you can glide for miles across the ice, take a leisurely stroll, or participate in traditional curling.
Every year in January, the Alternative Dutch Eleven Cities Tour also takes place – a huge ice skating event with international flair.

📍 Tip: The light is most beautiful in the early morning – ideal for photos.
